Founders Cigar Company
Douglass Habano
The boldest stick in the Founders core lineup, Habano over Habano for pepper and cedar with a Pennsylvania broadleaf backbone.
from$13.00
Douglass Habano from Founders Cigar Company is built as a tribute to Frederick Douglass, bold, sharp, and not interested in sitting quietly in the background. This is the stronger, more outspoken side of the Founders lineup, using Habano over Habano with a filler blend that brings both spice and depth. Wrapped in Ecuadorian Habano over an Ecuadorian Habano binder, with Nicaraguan Seco, P. Cubano Ligero, and Pennsylvanian Broadleaf Viso filler, Douglass Habano brings pepper, cedar, leather, earth, spice, and a touch of natural sweetness. It has that classic Habano bite up front, but the Broadleaf filler helps give it some darker weight underneath.
War Wagon's Take. Douglass Habano is the Founders cigar we'd hand to someone who wants more fight in the smoke. Franklin Connecticut is smoother. Hamilton Candela is more offbeat. Signature Dual Wrap has the visual appeal. Douglass is the one with its jaw set. This is a good pick for someone who wants a cigar with backbone, pepper, and structure without jumping straight into a heavy Maduro. It has enough edge to keep experienced smokers interested, but it stays balanced enough that the flavor does not get buried under spice. It is bold, but not reckless.
